The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Son of God made man lived among us in order to free us from the slavery of sin and to call us out of darkness into his wonderful light. He therefore began his work on earth by preaching repentance and saying: "Repent and believe the Gospel." (Mk 1:15)
In the sacrament of penance the faithful "obtain from God's mercy pardon for having offended him and at the same time reconciliation with the Church, which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, example and prayer seeks their conversion." (Lumen Gentium 11)
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered Monday through Friday at St. Patrick's before Noon Mass. A priest is also available in our Reconciliation room on Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
A "good Confession" presumes a "good" examination of conscience. To help you prepare for the Sacrament, CLICK HERE FOR EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE LINK and to view a short document about Penance.
